sanctuary set-up

Set-up for Sanctuary. As with Models & Martyrs the abstract objects were placed above the holographic plate which was laid flat on the table. The single argon beam exposed the plate from above. In the recontructed image the positive and negative imagery is seen simultaneously and appears achromatic close to the plate and semi spectral further out on both sides.

Theme: Seeing together the positive and negative imagery creates an unusual visual experience. As such the title 'Sanctuary' comes from the visual impression of the holographic plate loosing its identity and finding sanctuary within the double imagery of positive and negative clear abstract perspex shapes.
